Say goodbye to hot weather (and summer)
Checked the weather forecast this morning. We’re now seeing daily highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s (even 40s).
The summer heat blast is over. Whew!
I’m glad, since I’m not a big fan of hot, muggy weather. The “dog-days” annoy me (and most people I know).
And fall is one of my favorite seasons, I think this is because it brings change, and because it signals a “getting back to work” of sorts. As a kid, I always enjoyed going back to school, seeing old friends, meeting new people.
But in some ways, I hate seeing summer leave. Okay, I know it’s not gone yet, but the end is near. When I was younger I reveled in such change. Now, I hesitate a little, hoping to hold on to a tiny piece of the past. Or maybe I just want to slow the pace of change slightly.
